Mary Cecelia Honey Fister Weathers Deane

DEANE, Mary Cecilia Fister Weathers, 99, widow of Daniel Richard Deane and Thomas Allen Weathers, died Friday, March 2, 2007 at Hospice Care Center. She began her career as a Credit Manager at Mitchell Baker Smith Company and retired as the Credit Manager of Purcellís. She was born in Lexington, April 29, 1907, daughter of the late John Peter and Magdalene Schweickart Fister. She attended St.Paul, St. Catherine and Nazareth Schools. She had been a member of Immanuel Baptist Church since 1932, where she taught Sunday school, was former Chairman of Courtyard Committee, Womenís Missionary Union, past member of Wolf Run Homemakers and Fayette County Homemakerís Garden Club. She was a flower gardener and enjoyed sharing flowers with family and friends and she won many blue ribbons for her flowers. Survivors include her daughter, Allene Weathers Hatfield, Lexington, step-son, Richard Deane, Richmond, her sister, Sister John Fister [Henrietta], Louisville, two sisters-in-law, Rosalie Fister, Lexington, Cecil Fister, Versailles, three grandchildren, Tommie Jean Minnick, Lexington, Cecilia Ann [Mark] Wertheimer, Arlington, VA, Phillip Wayne [Glenda] Hatfield, Lexington, two step-grandsons, Richard Deane and Roger Deane, five great grandchildren, Lindsey Minnick, Kevin Minnick both of Lexington, Alex Wertheimer, Anna Wertheimer both of Arlington, VA, and Kelly Hatfield, Lancaster, many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, CeCe Fister, Lexington, and great nieces and nephews and many friends. Her sister Anna Theresa Fister and her four brothers, Julius C. Fister, C. Vincent Fister, Carl A. Fister and John F. Fister, also preceded her in death. Funeral services will be 1:30 P. M. Monday at Immanuel Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Craig Loscalzo with burial in the Lexington Cemetery. Casket bearers will be J.B. Fister, Michael Fister, Ronald Fister, Thomas Fister, David Thornberry and John Hutchinson. Friends may call 4-7 P.M. Sunday at the W. R. Milward Mortuary-Broadway.
